How Guides are assessed
Against a published written standard, using a reflective portfolio, an observed session, real planning with consent, and a professional conversation. Not everyone passes. Accreditation is renewed each year after a practice review, and accredited Guides are listed on a public register. The register opens with the first cohort.
Where accreditation stands. Guide accreditation is awarded by Yasmin A Darling Consultancy Ltd against its own published standard. The training is designed to CPD standards and counts towards CPD hours. It is not accredited by an outside body.
A practice culture to be proud of
Every Guide works to Rights in our practice, drawn from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It records the adults’ practice, never the young person. It describes the practitioner most people came into this work to be: hearing no and not now as communication, meeting distress with co-regulation rather than sanctions, pacing learning to energy, protecting rest, and noticing their own nervous system first.
